social media

Most leaders of most companies today understand the value of being present on social media – it’s where their customers spend a lot of time online.

Unfortunately, what these companies do online, on the various social platforms, is attempt to replicate old-school marketing and advertising, on new-school platforms.

The truth

People do NOT want to be sold to on social media. People use social media to connect with other humans. They use social media networks to do research and learn. They visit social media to consume content which they find valuable, helpful and useful.

Additionally, studies show that content posted by individuals way outperforms content posted by companies (561% better reach and 8x better engagement).

The take-away

Have your best experts (your employees) use the various social media platforms properly, and share valuable, interesting content which does NOT look like advertising. This will make them visible online, to the right people, and you’ll gain the trust (and new business) of your target market.
